Work to begin in January 2009 on the extension of Country Brook Lane between
Stacy Ridge Estates and Bellgrove Estates. Following is a request from Pert
Virtanen from Stacy Ridge and the response from John Baumgartner, Director
of Engineering, City of Allen:
Request from Pert Virtanen:
There was a meeting last summer between the City Engineering Department,
Countrybrook Estates, Bellegrove, and Stacy Ridge Estates. Following that
the construction plans on your website showed the Countrybrook Lane
connection to be completed by the end of September 2008. That was changed
to November. Now it has been changed to next year, 2009. Since over a
thousand people in our subdivision alone are influenced by this street
connection, or lack thereof, they need to know what is going on. So, I
would really appreciate your sending that information to us.
Response from John Baumgartner, Director of Engineering, City of Allen:
Thank you for your note. Yes Mr. Smith did forward me your request. We have
been working to wrap up the land acquisition..we had to satisfy the land
owner's mortgage company regarding the division of the proceeds and I was
waiting see if we would reach resolution.
We did and we are scheduled to close on the right-of-way this week (Dec
15-19, 2008) with construction anticipated to start by the first of the year
(2009). The project is anticipated to take 60 days weather permitting and
be completed by early March 2009.
